News From the World

Nowadays, people can get news from variable Medias whenever they want. As for me, I downloaded some applications in my phone  and read the news online through these applications, because I do not like to browse big portals to see what happened every day. I think it is very convenient for me to read this when I was having my lunch. Watching video is also one of my favorite ways to get news, because sometimes I just hate reading some things. Youku is the biggest video website in China, like YouTube in America  It picks up the biggest and the most interesting news from every category all over the world and posts them in the middle page, so that people can find the news very easily  Many people in China go to that website every day to get news.

After I study on the United States, I usually got news from New York Times. The first reason is that Now York Times is the most familiar American media for me to get news. When I was in China, my teacher told me that New York Time is an excellent resource for us to practice my English as well as knowing what happened around us. It is a reliable media, because every journalist in the New York Times reports and analyzes the social events fairly. The news on that website would not be changed for different reasons such as politics. I am also very curious about my friends’ recent development and things they are interested in. So I am addicted to Facebook and Twitter now, looking some essays and photos shared by them. And I can also get some information about activities and lectures recently in the University in that.

What's more, I also like to read the others' comments, because the comments can also provide me a lot of information about the event as well as others opinions. From my perspective, readers are not monitored by editors, so that they can say whatever they want in the comment area. And actually, the Chinese news media outlets are rigidly monitored by the Chinese government, so the reports in the newspaper may not tell ordinary people the truth, especially some political issues are related to the events. So as the story that I am really interested in, I want to read the reports published by news media agencies from different countries. It helps me to see the whole story more comprehensive.
