Press has
changed a lot in recent 10 years. With the development of technology, many new
resources and factors show up to have an immense influence on news. As we can
see in the second picture in Jeff Jarvis’s blog The Press Becomes the Press Sphere Press, the new kind of press has been replaced by a
press-sphere containing many other materials.
Comparing all the stories and news we
get new with that stuff in the past, Jeff demonstrates in his blog: In print,
the process leads to a product. Online, the process is the product (Jarvis). I
think that is true. People freely communicate with each other, discuss about various
events that they are interested in, ask questions confused them and add
comments for the essays they read, and all of these things collectively combine
together to produce the Press now. Just as the picture The New News Process revealed
in the blog, we actually create the products together by ourselves. So now the
press and media do not only contain the printed articles, but many other things
around them. May by seeing other materials along with the products, people can
have a better understanding of the meaning.
Process becomes much
more important now, which leads to a new structure of news. And editors and
journalists are trying to figure out a new newsroom organization to fit in the
new style. Jeff claims that the newsrooms need to be organized around topics or
tags or stories, because from his perspective, stories and topics become
molecules that attract atoms (Jarvis).
